Oxide

This was another poundland find for me. I'm starting to think I have a problem... Hi my name is Clare and I'm addicted to buying nail polish in poundland (scratch that, in general).

This is 2 coats of product, the polish I find to be very thin and runny so the application was quite tricky.

A lot of product builds up on the brush which is quite wide  and flat, so even with brushing off the excess before application, I still find that there is enough left on the brush to paid at least three nails. But despite that I really like this polish, its quick drying (touch dry in a couple of minutes) and once you get the hang of the application its actually quite quick and doesn't need multiple coats to achieve the colour in the bottle.

Here it is compared to the nearest thing in my collection.

This is Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous, which is just a couple of shades lighter, if you own LLM, you could probably skip Oxide, but if your a hoarder of nail polish like me, why not pick it up for a £1.

I wonder if Oxide would be a dupe for Chanel Graphite? ...

Mani Refresh : The Living Daylights

Yesterdays manicure was still going strong, no chips! bravo Kiko. So instead of changing my colour I decided to do a little refresh, using a polish I bought before Christmas.

OPI The Living Daylights is from the 2012 Skyfall collection celebrating 50 years of James Bond films. It is a beautiful concoction of large hexagonal glitter pieces in silver, copper and teal. Completely unique and a great polish for paring with so many colours for autumn/winter.

NOTD: Kiko

This is Kiko nail lacquer in number 303 Beige Chrome,  how boring is that name? luckily the colour is much more interesting.

Dubbed a dupe for Chanel's Quartz (swatch) this beautiful chrome finish polish is a super sparkling, champagne colour, akin to OPI's Designer... de Better! but without the beautiful copper flecks.

On first glance I was disappointed with this polish, in the bottle the two are vary similar, and so Beige Chrome was banished into my nail polish drawers, until now. On further inspection of the two colours, BC is a darker, pinker, champagne colour with silver glitter, where DdB is a lighter champagne with copper flecks. Theres room in my stash for both bottles after all!

Have you tried Kiko polishes? which is your favourite colour?

Unicorn Pee

Max Factor Fantasy Fire Unicorm Pee Dupe?

P1080582-1

Max Factor are calling it this years “it” colour
Bloggers have named it a Unicorn Pee Dupe
Will it live up to the hype? lets find out shall we ...

Lets start off by stating the obvious, the bottle is TINY! This nail polish is supposedly hard to find in the UK now, and Discontinued in the US. Good job I live and work in a small town and was able to easily pick this beauty up. And it is a beaut!! It did take 4 coats for a coverage I was happy with, but i have a feeling this is going to make a great layering polish.

In the bottle it is a beautiful eye catching indigo/purple colour with orange shimmer and a flash of yellow/green duochrome, which translates perfectly to the nail. A steal at Just £3.99 a bottle. Especially considering the stir it has made in the blogging world. Dubbed a Unicorn Pee Dupe (aka Clarins 230 dupe a polish that is currently going for £64.26 + shipping on ebay).

I can’t wait to try this polish over OPI Sapphire in the Snow

#OrangeOctober Big Daddy

#OrangeOctober Day 9

I must admit I have never been a fan of Sinful Colors. I've had the opportunity to try their polishes once or twice and was always left unimpressed, some applied streaky or needed multiple coats to achieve full opacity, others just didn't live up to what the bottle promised. But Big Daddy has converted me...

The formula, much like yesterdays polish, was a little thinner than I prefer (expect flooded cuticles yet again) but the colour was opaque in just one coat! A rich, vibrant, reddish tone orange with a juicy jelly like finish. This polish won't need a generous coat of Seche Vite for a high shine finish, but for some reason I still felt compelled to add one.

I don't know much about Sinful Colors, except the brand is not easily accessible here in the UK. So I don't know whether this comes from a themed collection or where the name came from. But I like to think its a reference to these guys ...
